An AI that buys and burns

In early 2024 a developer team engaged me to design and build the marketing site for Inferna, a new AI-driven token launching on Base, the Ethereum Layer 2 backed by Coinbase.

The mechanism was the story. The AI would autonomously invest in tokens selected by community vote, then burn those tokens, permanently removing them from circulation. The site had to make that loop feel inevitable before it explained it.

Surreal, infernal scenes that aligned with the project's name and ethos.

No stock assets

The visual problem was conceptual. A token whose job is to invest and burn needs imagery that reads as both considered and untamed. Stock footage could not carry that.

I used RunwayML to generate cinematic animations specific to Inferna, directing the model rather than settling for what it offered. The result is a set of surreal, infernal scenes that belong to this project and nothing else.

Framer, at weight

Building in Framer brought both freedom and complexity. The freedom was speed. The complexity was making large AI-generated video files behave across devices without punishing the first load.

I worked through asset compression, format choices and loading order so the cinematic feel survived on a phone over patchy network. Every scene had a budget. Nothing shipped that did not earn it.

A second beat. Same visual language, different mood.
